The Simplicity That is in Christ – What The Church Needs
God in Christ made a way for us to Him and made the way simple and easy.
Too often we assume that since our problem seems complex then our answer must also be complex.
“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
(NKJV) II Corinthians 11:3
It’s ALL about Jesus.
It’s that simple.
Jesus paid it all
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Love God and Love People
“Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying,“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:35 -40
Just Jesus
“For I determined not to know anything among you accept Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” (NKJV) I Corinthians 2:2
Jesus rules over all things everywhere
“For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 1:20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. (NKJV) Colossians 1:19
“And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (NKJV) Colossians 1:17
Pretty simple.
Thank God for loving us so much and for making the way to Him simple.

Aw the simplicity of a most complex love! Only the one and only God could make a perfectly holy concept something which even us humans can get our “heads around!”
Thanks for sharing this post, bless you in Christ the Savior’s name!

Steve,
I wonder sometimes how we so easily forget our first love. Jesus Christ is everything.
He is the way the truth and the life, the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End and Everything in between.
He is the First thought at the start of a new day and the best thought during the day and my Last thought at the end of the day.
As C.S.Lewis said, “I thought I had come to a place, I realized I had come to a Person. ”
Our religion is not a religion at all, but a relationship with our Creator, Saviour, and Friend, Jesus Christ.
Whatever you seem to find here in these humble words, I hope it is above all Christ Jesus.
God bless you Steve

As we go through our days, they are usually filled with so much to do. But 99% is centered on “worldly” responsibilities.
It is a mindset we have to work towards…to remember that Jesus is the center of all life, the Higher Purpose, the reason we have the things we have to tend to!
I love the C.S. Lewis comment. So many people look for that “place” in life as they “evolve” or become more “enlightened.”
We first need the Person, Jesus Christ, and then the other things will begin to fall into place.
Enjoy your weekend, and thank you for the support you give me here!
Steve 🙂

Healing From Jesus

This is so good. I have been a minister for over 40 years, and the past 15 of those years, I find that the Lord has had me focusing so much of my teaching on the fact that all things — including the understanding of scripture — must be centered in Christ — and that it really is SIMPLE if we keep our eyes on Jesus. In almost every service where I minister the Word, I find the Holy Spirit leads me to begin by establishing the premise that since Jesus is the only “exact representation” of God, then we must understand God through Jesus. That makes understanding the Word simple — even when there seem to be confusing or “contradictory” scriptures. If we understand that every single scripture must be interpreted and understood through Jesus Christ and what He showed us when He walked on earth, it clears up a lot of false teaching and messed up interpretation that leads to doubt and unbelief. Thank you for the things you have said here so forthrightly.
